The Reentry Team addresses the myriad issues people face outside criminal court and works to resolve the barriers to successful reentry into the community. Incarceration and criminal justice system interaction are extremely disruptive to those directly impacted and their families. This innovative method works to minimize the collateral effects of incarceration, divert those from long-term custodial sentences through alternatives to incarceration, and increase the opportunity for success once home.
The first of its kind in Louisiana, the Reentry Team includes a Reentry Attorney, Paralegal, Social Work Case Managers and Alternatives to Incarceration Social Workers. Together they identify existing reentry barriers and create individualized plans to ensure successful reentry into the community and ultimately, decreased recidivism.
